TURNBULL GREEN
Turnbull Green is the indie project established circa 2010 by multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, & visual artist Ian Newman. After growing up in the suburbs of the New York metropolitan area, Ian went on to attend Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York to study Art & Design. After 12 years, and various music projects in New York City, Ian relocated to Los Angeles, California where he now resides.
Turnbull Green has collaborated with a diverse pool of artists such as Tim Harp (Power Douglas, Foster Care), Ryan Moutinho (Thee Oh Sees, Meatbodies), Telli Michaels (Fameschool, Ninjasonik), Mathew Barnes (Forest Swords), Jason Drake (Dfalt, Cassettes Wont Listen), Anthony Morales, Jeffrey Davies (Brian Jonestown Massacre) and Chris Schlarb.
Best described as "Experimental Art Punk". Turnbull Green's musical style ranges everywhere from Punk, Hip-Hop, Electronica, Psychedelia, Folk, & Alternative Rock.
Turnbull Green's debut LP "The Wolf In You" was released in 2013 on Take A Record (vinyl) and Daylight Curfew (digital). Do to its particular off kilter lo-fi approach, and multi-genre musical influences; "The Wolf In You" remains revered as a cult classic. Shying away from mass acclaim and or exposer. Ryan Moutinho, of the Los Angeles psych-rock band Thee Oh Sees, mixed the album. Michael Bernard Mckeon created the artwork for the album.
