THE BELLOWS COLLECTION
George Bellows (1882–1925) captured the raw pulse of early 20th-century America. A realist with a modernist edge, his work confronted the social, political, and cultural forces of his time — from the brutal energy of underground boxing rings to the unfiltered rhythm of New York’s working class. Though his career was cut short at just 42, Bellows’ legacy endures through a striking duality: visceral, violent cityscapes balanced by serene lithographs of seascapes, nudes, and portraits that reveal his evolving modern sensibility.
We’re introducing the collection with two Supima® cotton tees: Stag at Sharkey’s, a tribute to Bellows’ raw depiction of the working-class boxing scene, and Emma in a Purple Dress, reimagined with Daylight Curfew’s black bar logo subtly integrated into the artwork.
Each piece honors Bellows’ duality — the collision of elegance and intensity — reinterpreted through our modern lens.
