Fashion/Art/Music magazine, Flaunt, has just officially premiered the video for Dfalt’s “Spctrpn” from his recently released album, Helsinki Beat Tape (Part One). The video was directed by Paola Suhonen, head of Finnish fashion label, Ivana Helsinki. They had some great things to say:
Diskery Daylight Curfew’s release of Helsinki Beat Tape (Part One) from Jason Drake’s project Dfalt may lead one to believe the producer has spent a fair amount of time scouring the back rooms of A Video Store Named Desire for a Criterion copy of El Topo to play while simultaneously looping the soundtrack of Eyes Wide Shut and J Dilla’s Donuts….read more at Flaunt after the jump…
Okayfuture has just premiered a brand new track off of Ekha’s forthcoming debut record, BCWTIOT. The track, “Siddharth” is the second premiere from the record which will see the light of day on July 9th via Daylight Curfew. The record, five years in the making, is an otherworldly sonic journey from the experimental soul trio and can be pre-ordered here. Take a listen to the first leak from the album, “Vedette”, over at Respect Mag.
Meet Ryan Palmieri. The Los Angeles based writer/director/videographer and friend of Daylight Curfew. Ryan’s work spans many different genres and interests, everything from hip hop music videos to artist profiles (like the one he hooked up for DLC’s own Turnbull Green) can be found within his body of work. He’s a man of many talents and holds a creative vision similar to those of you in the Daylight Curfew community. So naturally we thought we’d introduce. His latest project? A music video he’ll be directing for the lead single from Cassettes Won’t Listen’s upcoming record, CWL. Stay tuned for that one! In the meantime read a bit more about Ryan, we’re sure you’ll be seeing a lot more from him in the coming months.
A collaboration of epic proportions, El-P and Killer Mike’s Run The Jewels just received a release date and tracklist announcement. Needless to say we’re very excited about this project which will be a free download on June 26th via Fools Gold and available on limited edition colored vinyl and various deluxe packages (did someone say Run The Jewels weed grinder?) . Check out the tracklist below and listen to a new leak of “36″ Chain” after the jump…
